Red Cross chapter receives $25,000 State Farm donation

The Heart of Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross, which includes Callaway County, has received a $25,000 donation from State Farm Insurance.

Dave Griffith, chapter executive director, said the donation will be used for local services in the 21-county Central Missouri area the chapter serves as well as disaster relief.

When fires, floods, or other disasters occur in Callaway County and other counties served by the chapter, the Red Cross chapter receiving the $25,000 donation provides aid and temporary shelter funds to disaster victims.

Griffith said dedicated Red Cross volunteers are available every day of the year and at all hours to provide emergency food, clothing and shelter at no cost to clients in the 21 counties in the chapter.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
