Fundraiser set Monday for Honor Flight

A fundraising documentary film, "Honor Flight: One Last Mission," will be shown Monday to help finance the next Central Missouri Honor Flight for veterans to Washington D.C. on May 7.

The fundraiser was scheduled originally two months ago but was postponed because of a snowstorm.

The Central Missouri Honor Flight program is designed to fly Mid-Missouri World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington, D.C. to view the national memorials to their service and sacrifice.

Callaway County Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer, who is active in the Honor Flight organization in Callaway County, urges Callaway County residents to support the movie screening as a way to raise funds to support the Honor Flight program in Callaway County and in Central Missouri.

"This is a wonderful way for everyone to honor our veterans. After making the trip the veterans are so appreciative of the opportunity to make the trip to Washington D.C.," Kritzer said.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
