Preservation Commission seeks sponsors for trail markers

The Fulton Historic Preservation Commission is looking for individuals, businesses or groups interested in sponsoring signs for the Stinson Creek Trail.

Commission member Judy Schaneman brought the board up to speed on the results of the March 26 City Council meeting, where she and fellow commission member Jane Forsythe approached the council to seek permission to formally go through with the trail marker project. The preservation commission had been planning informative signs on various points of historic significance along the trail over the past several months.

The council gave the commission the go-ahead on the condition that they raise the funds for the nine signs, which are anticipated to cost about $110 each. The commission agreed to have members divide up different locations to approach businesses and organizations for $150 sign sponsorships.
