Michael B. Gordon, 32, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree assault stemming from a November 2012 investigation where Gordon sought to hire someone for the task, Sheriff Dennis Crane said.

"We got an anonymous tip from the community that Mr. Gordon was trying to solicit (to have his) estranged wife taken care of," said Crane. "That came to us, and we were eventually able to set up with undercover officers and conduct this information."

According to court documents, Gordon met with an undercover officer Nov. 23, 2012 in Kingdom City to "discuss an important matter." Gordon subsequently made arrangements with the officer to kill Tara Moore, his estranged wife.
