Westminster climbs 11 spots in liberal arts college ratings

Westminster College in Fulton has moved up 11 spots in the 2013 rankings of Best National Liberal Arts Colleges by U.S. News & World Report.

Westminster's rankings increased from 162nd to 151st among 251 liberal arts colleges evaluated throughout the nation.

"We are honored that prestigious national evaluators such as from U.S. News are recognizing Westminster as one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the nation," said Westminster President Dr. George B. Forsythe.

"The word is out: If you want to receive the tools you need to succeed and lead professionally," Forsythe said, "Westminster is one of the best choices of college you could make."

Unlike some other colleges and universities that are placed into regional categories and compete only in those regions, Westminster competes against all liberal arts colleges throughout the nation. The only other Missouri-based national liberal arts college to rank higher in the study than Westminster was William Jewell College of Liberty, which ranked 140th.
