Fulton native to serve as new face for Crane's Store

A biology major at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Kristen Cassidy never really had aspirations to be a model, but when she saw that Crane's Country Store was looking for someone to star in its next advertising campaign, she thought, why not?

"It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision," said Cassidy, who has been named the winner of the Crane's Store and Studio Seven Photography's Mid-Missouri Model Search. "I just knew Crane's and Studio Seven as prominent members of our community. It seemed like a great opportunity."

As the winner of the model search, Cassidy - a Fulton native and 2010 graduate of North Callaway High School - will receive free modeling training and a free modeling portfolio from Studio Seven, and will be featured in Crane's Country Store's online, social media and print advertising this fall. She also will receive $150 worth of clothing from Crane's.

decided on Cassidy as their model because they felt she would look good in the Mizzou and Carhartt clothing that will be the focus of the ads.

"She's very pretty, she had a good look and she just looks like a woman that would wear Carhartts," Crane said, noting that it was not easy narrowing down the more than 60 candidates who submitted their photos.
