Sen. Claire McCaskill's "On Our Campus, On Our Side" listening tour stopped in at Westminster College in Fulton Tuesday evening, where the senator spoke with a group of about 50 students and members of the community on federal student loans and grants.

McCaskill said the tour was designed to stir up interest in college-age voters in her campaign, as well as drive home the dangers that proposed cuts to federal education funding would spell for student loans and grants that hundreds of thousands of students rely on to attend college.

"I wanted to travel to college campuses this week to hopefully make you feel invested in this campaign, and make you feel like you need to pay attention," McCaskill told her audience. "It's going to impact you and ... the generation that follows you, whether or not we continue to invest in education in this country or if we say 'you know what, if you can't make it on your own, you're on your own.'"
