Fulton attorney Timothy C. Brady, who lost the election two years ago for Callaway County recorder, is the Democratic candidate for county treasurer.

Both candidates were asked why they want to be county treasurer.

Zerr said her past eight years of experience as the deputy county treasurer has prompted her to want to serve the citizens of Callaway County as its county treasurer.

"I'd like to take my eight years of experience in the office to the next level. All county offices communicate well together and I enjoy working here," Zerr said.

Brady said he has always been interested in county government.

"This opportunity has come up and with my education and experience, I feel I am uniquely qualified to be the treasurer of Callaway County," Brady said.
