Bill Hudson thanks the Jaycees while Kevin "Numie" Moreland presents him with a banner dedicating the announcer's stage to his name. "The voice of the Kingdom of Callaway County Fair" has volunteered his announcing skills to the fair and other events for 30 years, and will also serve as grand marshal for the Jaycee's Christmas parade.

People who have been regulars at the Callaway County Fair any time in the last three decades have heard a very familiar voice.

The man behind that voice was honored by the Fulton Jaycees for his service at the Fall Festival Mud Run Races Saturday.

Bill Hudson was honored before the run began with the news that the announcer booth along John Edwards Arena he had sat in for 30 years would be named after him, and that he would sit as grand marshal for the Jaycee's annual Christmas parade Dec. 1.

"That was a real honor," Hudson said after the impromptu surprise ceremony. "They've had some real folks that used to be (grand marshal,) so I couldn't see how they'd pick me."
