Bulldogs should see more of a test from Wildcats

South Callaway head football coach Tim Rulo can feel the tone of the season shifting dramatically, and he hopes his state-ranked Bulldogs are honed in on that sense.

South Callaway (7-1) - ranked No. 10 in Class 2 - closes out the regular season tonight with a pivotal Class 2, District 6 matchup at Montgomery County (6-2). Kickoff is at 7.

With single-elimination district play launching next week under the state's new playoff format, Rulo is emphasizing that the Bulldogs can't afford setbacks.

"I've told our guys, "You don't want to lose anymore,'" Rulo said after a film session with his squad early Wednesday night. "In my mind, from here on out is about taking care of business. We've been asking (the players) all week, "Are we ready to go and make the run that we're wanting to make, and do the things we're wanting to do?'

"I think, overall, they seem to be in the right mindset. ... Hopefully there's a little more buzz around what's going on."
