T-Birds extend streak, rough up Indians

KINGDOM CITY - For the second straight week, the North Callaway Thunderbirds discarded their opponent in fast fashion.

Senior wingback Vance Allen ran for a pair of scores and also caught a touchdown pass Friday night, and North Callaway marched to its fifth consecutive victory with a 46-6 thrashing of Eastern Missouri Conference foe Van-Far.

Senior linebacker Jacob Kee also returned a fumble for a touchdown near the end of the first quarter and the Thunderbirds' defense and special teams forced four other fumbles in the first half that eventually resulted in North Callaway scores.

The Thunderbirds (5-2, 4-0 EMO) - who clinched at least a share of the conference title with Friday night's win - shot into halftime with a 46-0 advantage. That prompted the mercy rule and running clock in the second half, allowing North Callaway to close up shop early and enjoy the rest of the night's homecoming festivities.
