Holiday craft bazaar to benefit FSH employees, New Bloomfield seniors

The Fulton State Hospital's Employee Relations Committee is sponsoring a holiday craft bazaar 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the FSH Main Canteen that will help the committee provide events for staff, as well as New Bloomfield seniors' Project Graduation.

The bazaar will feature bags, cooking ware, jewelry, crafts and more, with the fee from the approximately 20 vendors going to the Employee Relations Committee. Chili dogs, chili, chips and drinks will be available for purchase, with proceeds from food benefiting New Bloomfield's Project Graduation May 18.

FSH employee Laurinda Jett, who also sells Miche bags, began organizing the bazaar after she approached the committee. She said holding the event at work provided both a less expensive venue and a source for fellow crafters.

"I've done prior vendor events, and ... a lot of us work here, so that was beneficial," said Jett, who said that seven of the 20 vendors, including brands such as Avon, Pampered Chef and Mary Kay, were FSH employees. "The tables are cheap; they're $10 a table, and it goes back to the Employee Relations Committee so it benefits all of us."
