November 9th, 2012 in News

A Fulton woman is in the Cole County Jail on a $100,000 bond after being charged with stealing mail and checks from residences in Jefferson City.

Tami Zeugin, 37, is charged with forgery and receiving stolen property.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows officers responded Wednesday to a residence in the 1100 block of East Miller Street, Jefferson City, to serve a search warrant and found Zeugin, who was taken into custody for active arrest warrants.

Zeugin possessed a purse and a large bag, both of which contained numerous checks and personal mail which did not belong to her.

She also possessed a notebook with hand-written notes about people's personal information and account information.

The majority of the checks were written from victims' personal checking accounts to pay bills. Some of these checks had the pay to the order and amount sections altered.
