Seven Callaway County high school students won awards and their creations are on display at the Mildred M. Cox Gallery at William Woods University through June 3.
The display marks the first time the university has created an art show for Callaway County high school students.
Area high school art teachers were asked to choose student work for the show at the university.
The student art was judged on such criteria as originality, craftsmanship and composition.
The art show was judged by professional artists Yolanda Ciolli and Jane Mudd. Mudd is an assistant professor of art at WWU.
Jenny Eisenhofer, a sophomore at Fulton High School, won the Best in Show award for "Prom 2012," which was a prom dress she made of duct tape that she wore to her prom this year. She will receive a $1,000 scholarship to WWU upon enrolling as a freshman. She also received the top prize of $100.
