Now that the South Callaway Bulldogs are making their first appearance in the state baseball playoffs in 18 years, head coach Jared Wood intends to be there for the duration.
Translation: Wood fully expects the Bulldogs to be playing for the Class 2 state championship 11 days from now in Springfield.
South Callaway reached the postseason in stirring fashion, securing the District 6 title with a breathtaking 5-4 victory in nine innings over Linn on Thursday night in Harrisburg. It was the Bulldogs' first district championship since 1994.
