Adrienne Ebersole was down. Face down on the pitch, the Fulton Lady Hornets' junior midfielder had just felt the brunt of a slide tackle from Fatima Comets junior defender Lexie Borland and a twinge of pain in her left knee.

The occurrence prompted Fulton head coach Kati Wallace to end Ebersole's night just 15 minutes into the second half of the Lady Hornets' home opener.

No matter, though. Ebersole, a year removed from an ACL injury to the aforementioned knee, had inflicted enough damage in the first half alone.

Ebersole lit the Comets up for a first-half hat trick, pacing the Lady Hornets in a 5-0 win over Fatima at the high school sports complex Tuesday night.
