Three rescued horses find temporary home

The three horses rescued in Steedman Monday by the Callaway County Humane Society have found a temporary home on a farm south of Fulton.

Sandy Corbet, president of the Callaway County Humane Society, said the two older malnourished mares will be boarded temporarily by Kevin and Lorrie Spraling. They have a farm along Route C south of Fulton.

"They will keep the two mares that are in better condition than the yearling filly. The yearling filly is still very sick and will be cared for at Dr. Bob Barnett's veterinary office at least until Monday," Corbet said.

"The couple will board the two mares temporarily and help us find a permanent home for them. They also have agreed to take the yearling filly and find her a home when she is able to be released from Dr. Barnett's care," Corbet said.
