Zackery T. Zoellner, 17, was arrested early Monday morning and taken to Callaway County Jail on a $7,500 bond. FPD started taking reports of vehicle break-ins at 1:27 a.m. Monday.

Maj. Roger Rice said several officers walked the neighborhood searching for the suspect. He said they found about a dozen vehicles that had been broken into and reported the break-ins to the owners. Some vehicles had items missing and some did not. Rice explained that items stolen included cell phones, GPS systems and other objects that would be easy to pawn. Zoellner was still in the area when he was arrested.

"He was after small electronics mostly," Rice said.

FPD expects some vehicles burglarized haven't been reported yet. Rice encourages owners to report thefts to police, because the department has recovered property to return to rightful owners.

Rice said all the vehicles breached were unlocked.

"It's a small town," Rice said. "People get complacent, and they just don't lock their cars."
