Fulton sex offender wanted following chase

A Fulton man who the Callaway County Sheriff's Office identified as a non-compliant sex offender is wanted after leading deputies on a chase following a reported burglary.

At about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, sheriff's deputies responded to a theft that had jut occurred on Christina Lane, east of Fulton. The suspect, John H. Holsman, 34, left the residence in a blue

Dodge Durango and was seen by deputies. When they attempted to stop Holsman, he fled in the vehicle and deputies lost sight of him on County Road 118.

The Durango was later found abandoned in a field at the end of County Road 126 after having crashed through a fence. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting an accident investigation.

Holsman is currently wanted on four outstanding warrants and is a registered sex offender. Homefacts.com, a local safety and offender tracking site, states Holsman was convicted in 2004 of two counts of 2nd-degree statutory rape. Holsman has not reported to the sheriff's office as required by law and is considered non-compliant.
