In the Republican primary election Tuesday, incumbent Doc Kritzer of Fulton and newcomer Randall Kleindienst of Kingdom City both won their party's nomination for the Callaway County Commission.
Kritzer won the race for Callaway County Western District Commissioner against Bill Galloway. Kritzer piled up a commanding win 1,142 to 823, a margin of 58 percent to 42 percent.
Kritzer has no Democratic opponent and his win Tuesday virtually assures his election in November, barring a successful write-in campaign.
In the Eastern District race for the County Commission, Kleindienst defeated Carl Linnenbringer of Hatton, 1,069 to 769, a margin of 58 percent to 42 percent, the same as Kritzer's percentage victory.
Kritzer said Tuesday night after his victory he is thankful he has no opposition in November. "I think it is a victory for all of the commission, not just me. It is a team effort to move the county forward," Kritzer said.
He said tomorrow he is scheduled to preside over a statewide meeting of the County Commissioners Association of Missouri. Kritzer is president of the organization that includes all county commissioners in the state.
Kleindienst said it was his first try for public office. "I ran against a very good opponent and I am honored to win. Now it is time to go to the next step in November," Kleindienst said.
All of the Democratic candidates for county offices in Callaway County had no opposition in Tuesday's primary election.
The only races for county offices in Callaway County were in the Republican primary.
