Fulton joggers were in for as nasty of a surprise Monday morning as light sleepers were the night before. While damage from the storms that racked Callaway County over the weekend was generally minimal, Stinson Creek was flooded, completely submerging the trail running along its banks in several places.
A huge storm system blew through the mid-Missouri area. Lightning lit the skies throughout the weekend, culminating Sunday night in a particularly loud, constant storm lasting throughout the night. The result was a flooded creek, and for Jack McBride, unlucky tree owner out on County Road 108, a lightning strike a little close to home.
