COLUMBIA - The William Woods University Lady Owls softball team experienced extremes at the plate while picking up a pair of important conference wins.
William Woods managed just three hits but still pulled out a 2-1 victory over rival Columbia College in the first game of Friday's American Midwest Conference doubleheader. The Lady Owls then cut loose in the nightcap, riding a 14-hit barrage to a 6-3 win and a sweep of the Lady Cougars.
William Woods stretched its winning streak to four games while remaining percentage points behind Williams Baptist (Ark.) College for first place in the AMC. The Lady Owls are now 22-13 on the season and 8-2 in conference play.
