Lady Hornets suffer second straight loss

Hannibal tallied a pair of second-half goals in handing the Fulton Lady Hornets soccer team its second loss in a row and its first North Central Missouri Conference setback, 2-0 on Thursday night.

Fulton was coming off its first loss of the season, 4-3 at home to School of the Osage on Tuesday night. The Lady Hornets are now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the NCMC.

Hannibal scored in the 20th and 30th minutes of the second half. Fulton appeared to cut its deficit in half in the 32nd minute when sophomore forward Victoria Langley scored off an assist from senior midfielder Lola Weiss.

The officials initially called it a goal, but then reversed their decision and ruled that the Lady Hornets were offside.
