New Director to sustain health of Westminster's Wellness Center

First year on the job, Dr. Kasi Howard plans to uphold the effectiveness of Westminster College's Wellness Center, a part of Westminster's Counseling and Health Services Department. Located in the basement of Westminster Hall, students are able to visit the center to either seek medical attention or counseling.

Taking the helm last semester, Dr Kasi Howard became the Executive Director of The Wellness Center. Prior to her employment at Westminster College, Dr. Howard was a psychologist for Texas Tech University. When asked if she has a specific goal she wishes to achieve as the Director of Westminster's Wellness Center, Dr. Howard said her goal was to insure that "Students are aware of our services."

For Westminster students in need of medical attention, the center has employed the help of Sara Revelle, a Nurse Practitioner. For students who may need more than just medical treatment, Howard counsels students struggling with emotional and physical issues, including drug abuse and depression.

As Howard and Revelle of the Wellness Center provide students with services pertaining to their physical and mental wellbeing, Westminster's Counseling and Health Services department also offers students information pertaining to the importance of nutrition, the prevention of sexual assault, and the knowledge of what is appropriate physical interaction with fellow collegians.
