Shooting victim had long record of convictions

State court records reveal the Williamsburg man who was shot and killed by law enforcement officers early Monday morning had a record of more than a dozen arrests and convictions on a variety of minor criminal charges in Callaway County.

Records show Timothy Earl Simpson, 34, of Williamsburg, who was shot and killed by law enforcement officers Monday, has been sentenced to jail and prison numerous times.

His last charge came on Nov. 23, 2011, when he pleaded guilty to second degree property damage and was sentenced to 120 days in Boone County Jail. He had been arrested by University of Missouri Police.

On July 22, 2005, Simpson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor third-degree assault charge. He had been arrested by Fulton Police. Simpson received a sentence of 20 days in Callaway County Jail.

On March 18, 2005, Simpson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault and was sentenced to 10 days in Callaway County Jail.

On Aug. 18, 2004, Simpson pleaded guilty to a drug charge of manufacturing and attempting to possess a controlled substance with the intent of distribute. He received a five-year suspended sentence to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

On April 25, 2003, Simpson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft of property valued at less than $500 and received a sentence of 10 days in Callaway County Jail.

On Sept. 11, 2003, Simpson pleaded guilty to felony possession of anhydrous ammonia in a non-approved container and was sentenced to six months in Callaway County Jail.

On May 3, 2002, Simpson pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and was sentenced to four days in Callaway County Jail.
