County to get almost $4K for emergency food, shelter

Callaway County has received a $3,982 grant from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board program.

The United Way of Central Missouri administers the program for four counties in Central Missouri.

The board deciding how the money is distributed includes county commissioners from each of four Central Missouri counties, local government bodies, nonprofit social services agencies, religious organizations, and representatives of the United Way of Central Missouri.

Callaway County Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer is a member of the board.

The grants to four Central Missouri counties this year are: Callaway, $3,982; Cole, $9,125; Moniteau, $1,874; and Osage, $2,849.
