Those who want to take a peek at the clothing their ancestors wore will soon have the opportunity.

The Mid-Missouri Friends of the National Churchill Museum will put on a fashion show where clothing from 1890 to 1970 will be modeled. The show is a part of "A Gala Evening, A Step Back in Time," an event to raise money for the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. Doors will open for the gala at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Backer Hall on the Westminster College campus. Tickets are $50 and include the show, appetizers, dinner and dessert.

The museum foundation set a $50,000 fundraising goal to pay for restoration of the church's tuck pointing. Jody Paschal, president of the organization, explained that the tuck pointing keeps water from seeping into the walls, and it is in bad need of repair. He said its one thing to refurbish pews and other items inside the church but "if the walls themselves are not stable, all of that is for nothing."
