Neighbors in Auxvasse and Mexico, Mo., were shocked and dismayed to learn this weekend that a husband and wife who lived in Mexico, Mo., have been charged with murdering an Auxvasse man and his daughter on Sept. 2.
Two first-degree murder charges were filed Friday against Ryan C. Coari, 28, who is accused of binding and then shooting to death Michael J. Wieberg and his daughter Amanda Wieberg in the father's home eight miles east of Auxvasse. Coari also is accused of setting Wieberg's home on fire in an attempt to cover up the murders. Second-degree murder and robbery charges have been filed against Coari's wife, Jacie K. Couri, 27.
Neighbors say Coari and his wife lived with Coari's mother in a duplex housing project complex in Mexico.
