Lady Hornets volleyball team shut out at Blue Springs South Invitational

BLUE SPRINGS - It was tough going all day for the Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team at the Blue Springs South Invitational.

The Lady Hornets faced a quartet of state-ranked teams and were downed by all four of in straight sets on Saturday morning.

Nixa bested Fulton in the opening match by scores of 25-16, 25-21. And in the words of Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse, the second set was the way she'd like to see her team play all season.

"We were point-for-point with them for a while," Youse said. "(Nixa is) full of athletes and fast-paced, but it was the first time this season that it looked like volleyball and how the game should look."

Fulton lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 25-12, 25-10 in the next match and 25-12, 25-11 to Blue Springs. In the final match of the day, Ozark topped the Lady Hornets 25-17, 25-13.
