Lady Bulldogs claim last MMC cross country title

The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs cross country team was superb in the swan song for the Mid-Missouri Conference.

Sophomore Taylor Howard finished second individually to lead a close group of four South Callaway medalists Wednesday as the host Lady Bulldogs secured the team title at the final MMC cross country championships.

The MMC is disbanding after the 2011-12 school year.

Howard logged a time of 22 minutes, 52.9 seconds, as South Callaway - with 25 points - landed four consecutive runners in the top five.

Sophomore Abigail Luebbert was next, coming in third in 23:46.8, while senior Jasmine Meurer (24:25.5) was fourth and sophomore Andrea Rodriguez (24:26.4) fifth.

The top seven runners received all-MMC medals.

Juniors Jaerie and Serina Booher also placed 13th (27:31.4) and 16th (28:13.3), respectively, for the Lady Bulldogs.
