Auxvasse pair arrested in recent Callaway, Audrain burglaries

AUXVASSE - Two residents here were taken into custody Tuesday for their potential connection to a string of recent home burglaries in Audrain and Callaway counties.

Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane said Tuesday afternoon that Jay Hager and Cassandra Bolton were arrested on warrants from both counties for "knowingly receiving stolen property" after stolen items - including a replica 1952 Jaguar stolen from a home near Steedman - were found on their property on County Road 154.

Crane said Tuesday afternoon that officers with the Audrain County Sheriff's Office approached his office about the case Monday.

"They had a couple big home burglaries with several thousand dollars' worth of property stolen, including some vehicles," Crane said. "On August 26th we took a report of a similar type of incident near Steedman in which several thousand dollars' worth of stuff was taken, including several weapons and a replica of a '52 Jaguar."
