Lady Wildcats golf team takes Paris title

PARIS - Senior Shannon Crumpton came in second individually with an 85 on Wednesday, guiding the New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats golf team to a first-place finish at the Paris Tournament.

Crumpton was one of three medalists for New Bloomfield, which amassed a team score of 386 to claim its first-ever tournament title in the program's four-year history. Centralia and Paris tied for second at 395, while Harrisburg was third with a 408.

The Lady Wildcats were able to shave 71 strokes off their team score at Paris in 2010.

"It's exciting; the girls have set personal and team goals going into this season, and this is the first step toward achieving those," New Bloomfield head coach Debbie Cuno said.

Also medalling for the Lady Wildcats were senior Ashtin Withers, fifth with a 93, and sophomore Alex Withers - 10th with a 99.
