Annual trivia night to feature patriotic theme

Callaway County supporters of Kingdom Projects Inc. are brushing up on their knowledge of all things trivial in anticipation of the organization's 14th Annual Trivia Night on Nov. 5.

Starting with dinner at 6 p.m. at the KPI Recycling Center, this year's event will feature the theme "Proud to be an American," partially as a nod to the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

"We're going to have hot dogs and hamburgers and a potato bar, and they've talked about making apple pie," said Kathy Keeling with KPI.

As usual, Trivia Night will feature a series of trivia categories developed by board member Jim Cruickshank - questions which are kept secret until the sealed envelopes are opened at Trivia Night. There also will be a silent auction featuring items such as a chainsaw, artwork and gift certificates to local businesses.

Last year's event drew in 14 teams and raised more than $7,000. As of Thursday, there are six teams registered for the 2011 Trivia Night, although Keeling said typically a large number of teams do not register until the end of October. Registration is $200 per table/team of eight.
