Officials with SERVE, Inc. are hoping a few of Callaway County's everyday heroes will step up to make sure every local child will have a merry Christmas this year.
With the holiday season just around the corner, SERVE is looking for area individuals and businesses to adopt and sponsor families through its Adopt-A-Family program.
"The Adopt-A-Family Christmas Assistance Program (AAF) allows you to do what you can and help someone anonymously while protecting the identity and dignity of the recipients," a recent letter sent out to past participants states. "At Christmas time ... our donors are vital to the mission of SERVE. ... Without your help, this program will not work.
"Be a hero this year. Join us in providing a beautiful Christmas for our neighbors in need."
