Senior forward Chelsea Wiler led all players with 17 points while sophomore guard Shelby Bailey put in 16 points in a season-opening 90-15 win for the Lady Wildcats over Calvary Lutheran on Monday night.
A quartet of New Bloomfield players - senior guards Jessica Hazelhorst and Ashtin Withers, sophomore guard Bethany Craighead and freshman center Brooke Kelley - all had 10 points.
The Lady Wildcats led 51-11 at halftime and hit nine 3-pointers, with Wiler and Bailey hitting four and three respectively.
"They (Calvary Lutheran) stayed back in the zone so we hit some shots," New Bloomfield head coach Brett Craighead said. "It was a good win to get some confidence starting off, but we have a tough one against Hallsville so we'll have to regroup and get ready for them."
The Lady Wildcats (1-0) host Hallsville tonight at 5 p.m.
