Man killed at Kingdom City in motorcycle-deer accident

Deer crashes increase each November

With the opening of the firearms deer season Saturday, running deer caused two serious accidents, one fatal, during the weekend in Callaway County.

The fatal accident involving a deer was near Kingdom City and the other was near New Bloomfield.

The Missouri Department of Conservation warns that deer are more active in the breeding season in November, the same time the deer firearms season opens. Each November there are more than 400 accidents caused by deer running across roadways in Missouri.

Jarad D. Lemcke, 18, St. Louis, was killed Sunday in Callaway County when his motorcycle hit a deer.
