KINGDOM CITY - The North Callaway Thunderbirds were just the fourth team all season to score more than 10 points against the School of the Osage Indians. In fact, the three touchdowns the Indians gave up to North Callaway were the second-most they'd given up to any opponent.

Unfortunately for the Thunderbirds, Osage senior wide receiver Jared Edwards outscored North Callaway all by himself. Edwards accounted for five touchdowns - including at least one apiece on offense, defense and special teams - as the No. 3 Indians routed the Thunderbirds 63-21 in the Class 3 quarterfinals on Saturday.

North Callaway took the game's opening kickoff from its own 13-yard line, but was forced to punt on fourth-and-5 from the Indians' 45.

After the Thunderbirds failed to draw Osage offside, and committed the 5-yard infraction themselves, Edwards fielded the kick from senior punter Jared Graves at his own 22-yard line. Edwards kept himself upright after almost going down on first contact and then ran right down the North Callaway sideline for a 78-yard touchdown to put the Indians up 7-0 with 7 minutes, 48 seconds left in the first quarter.

Edwards added scoring catches of 62 and 65 yards, returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and also scooped up an Osage fumble and ran it in for a 15-yard score.
