The sights and sounds of Christmas will be in the air Friday night as the Fulton Downtown Business Association hosts its annual Holiday Open House.

Smockingbird's owner Virginia McCoskrie said the open house will continue with the same formula it has followed for years, starting with special extended holiday shopping hours at participating businesses from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., followed by the unveiling and judging of the holiday windows at 5 p.m. - which she said is her favorite part of the open house.

"I really like decorating - it usually takes me a whole day to put the window together," McCoskrie said, noting that she's going to do something "different" this year, which includes a little bit of construction.
