Soup Kitchen to host Thanksgiving dinner

Leaders of the Soup Kitchen are inviting members of the Callaway community to join them for the organization's 16th annual Thanksgiving feast on Nov. 24.

From 1-3 p.m., Soup Kitchen volunteers will be serving a traditional holiday meal of turkey and all the trimmings and pumpkin pie at no cost to attendees at Finally Tammy's on Court Street in Fulton. They also will be delivering meals to homebound residents who are unable to make it to the celebration at Tammy's, as well as to those who have to work on the holiday such as local emergency workers.

"We're going to have turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, green beans, cranberries, bread and all kinds of desserts - just about anything you'd want for a Thanksgiving meal," Soup Kitchen president Anne Erbschloe said.

Almost 350 Callaway residents attended the dinner in 2010, and Erbschloe said the organization is planning to serve even more this year.
