NB firefighter ticketed while responding to fire call

A New Bloomfield volunteer firefighter plans to consult attorneys after receiving a traffic ticket Saturday evening while responding to a fire call.

Matthew Ousley, of Holts Summit, said he followed protocol and state law by using his emergency lights and sirens on his personal vehicle to respond to a natural cover fire at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday when he was pulled over by an officer of the Holts Summit Police Department. Ousley said the officer told him he had violated several traffic laws and gave him a citation for careless and imprudent driving - a class A misdemeanor.
