T-Birds have "good feeling' for rematch against Eagles

KINGDOM CITY - Head football coach Mike Emmons has fielded successful teams in his time with the North Callaway Thunderbirds. He's won in the past, but the kind of winning the Thunderbirds are doing right now strikes Emmons a little differently.

"There's kind of a feeling teams have when you're successful," Emmons said Friday afternoon. "It's not always there, but it's kind of a feeling of camaraderie that everyone is in it for the greater good and not just themselves.

"There's that feeling you have with a few teams and we have that with this one."

North Callaway (7-4) has won its last six games after starting the season 1-4. The Thunderbirds outlasted the Southern Boone Eagles in double overtime to win the district championship and then scored every time they had the ball in a 54-35 Class 3 regional win over Orchard Farm last Wednesday night at Kingdom City.
