Canine committee speaks on chaining, fencing

Two guests were asked to speak at Thursday's dog committee meeting. The committee, appointed by Fulton Mayor LeRoy Benton, has been meeting at 10 a.m. every Thursday over the past month discussing updating the city's animal ordinance.

John Pautz, committee chair, said the guests - Melody Whitworth of Dogs Deserve Better and Clint Taylor of Invisible Fence - were invited to speak so the panel members could be better informed about issues such as using electronic fences and tethering dogs. Including the nine-member committee, about 25 people attended Thursday's meeting.
