Former Fulton union leader indicted for bank fraud

A former president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1324 in Fulton recently was indicted in federal court on 14 counts of bank fraud.

Michael Allen Palmer, 51, is charged with writing checks out of the AFSCME Local 1324's Callaway Bank checking account for personal use multiple times between 2007 and 2009 during his term as president. AFSCME Local 1324 has a membership of employees who work at Fulton State Hospital.
