A call for Callaway youth to connect more with their community and learn to be leaders is the goal of the Youth Leadership Callaway program.

The program includes an activity-filled week in June for Callaway County students who will be in the seventh, eighth or ninth grade for the 2011-12 school year. The application deadline for the program is May 30. This is the ninth year the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce and the Emerson Center for Leadership and Service at Westminster College have teamed up to offer the program to area youth. Those who are accepted into the program meet at the chamber at 8 a.m. every day from June 20-24 and travel to different destinations in the area.
