Lady Hornets blaze past Marshall in 4-1 win

The Fulton Lady Hornets soccer team lit up the Marshall Lady Owls in the second half after a 45-minute lightning delay.

Fulton broke a 1-1 halftime tie by responding with three goals over the final 40 minutes to end the regular season with a 4-1 NCMC victory over Marshall on Thursday night.

The Lady Hornets improved to 15-4 overall and ended up at 8-4 in the North Central Missouri Conference.

The lightning delay seemed to spark Fulton. Just two minutes into the second half, sophomore forward Rachelle Miller scored off an assist from senior midfielder Kara Henry to put the Lady Hornets in front to stay at 2-1.

Fulton needed just two minutes to find the net again and extend its lead after Henry scored on a header off a corner kick by junior forward Lola Weiss.
