Hornets tennis team turns back Marshall in 7-6 win

The Fulton Hornets tennis team improved to 9-7 overall and 4-3 in the North Central Missouri Conference after edging visiting Marshall 7-6 on Wednesday night.

Despite splitting the six singles and six doubles matches, Fulton prevailed on a tiebreaker involving winning two of the top three doubles matches.

The Hornets' No. 1 doubles pairing of sophomore Josh Hurt and senior Sean Flynn downed Marshall's Jason Hadley and Patrick Butler 10-1. Fulton's No. 2 doubles tandem of senior Kody Renner and sophomore Scott Strough triumphed 10-6 over the Owls' Trent Clause and Jeremy Jalilvand.
