Three county residents hurt in two one-vehicle accidents

Three Callaway County residents were injured in separate one-vehicle accidents.

On Wednesday Denise A. Hague, 49, and Max Belshein, 13, both of Mokane, were injured in an accident at 8 a.m. in Boone County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Hague was northbound on Route Z, about 1.4 miles east of Rob Cook Road in Boone County when her 2010 Toyota traveled off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, a post and several highway signs.

Hague was transported by ambulance to Boone Hospital.

The patrol reported Hague and Belshein were wearing seat belts and the vehicle sustained extensive damage.

In another one-vehicle accident at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Joel S. Matthews, 18, Fulton, had minor injuries in an accident on Route F at County Road 341 in Callaway County.

The patrol reported the accident occurred when Matthews was westbound on Route F. He swerved to avoid an animal carcass in the roadway and traveled off the left side of the roadway.

Matthews was wearing a seat belt and his 1999 Dodge was demolished, the patrol reported.

With minor injuries, Matthews was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
