Holts Summit man suspected in double killing

SALEM, Mo. (AP) - A southern Missouri sheriff says charges are pending against a suspect in the deaths of a husband and wife earlier this week.

Dent County Sheriff Rick Stallings says the man was arrested Friday in Holts Summit. The suspect's name has not been released, and KOLR-TV reports that charges are expected today.

Deputies found the bodies of 57-year-old Dennis Lewis and his wife, 50-year-old Mary Lewis, on Tuesday afternoon at their home in rural Dent County near Salem.

Autopsies showed Dennis Lewis was shot three times in the head and his wife once in the head.

There's been no word on a possible motive for the killings.
