Old CEC building could cure FPD growing pains

If the Fulton City Council approves purchase of the former Callaway Electric Cooperative building, the police department will finally have all the room it needs.

Tuesday night the council approved first reading of a bill to buy the old CEC property at 503 Truman Rd. for the purpose of relocating the police department, which has outgrown its current location at 510 Market St.

"The main thing is our building is old and in disrepair, and it's just too small," said Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers. "The additional space is going to be really nice because we're kind of packed in here."
