The North Callaway Fire Protection district was called to a truck stop in Kingdom City late Thursday night in response to a potential hazardous waste spill.
"A tractor trailer started leaking a corrosive material," said NCFP spokesperson Sterling Mitchell. "We contacted the Columbia Fire Department's Haz-Mat Team for assistance.
"When they arrived they determined there was not a sufficient amount to merit any further assistance after the truck company had a private contractor that had cleaned up (the spill)."
Mitchell said the only injury was a small chemical burn suffered by the operator of the tractor trailer.
